White House stonewalls on Solyndra scandal – taxpayers lost half billion dollars

November 7, 2011 10:04

The Obama White House is refusing to comply with a congressional subpoena for documents related to the Solyndra scandal. Previously revealed documents from other agencies have shown that the White House pressured DOE to approve the loan the the now bankrupt solar company over objections of staffers who said the company would run out of money.

The White House probably also participated in the loan restructuring which illegally placed a Solyndra investor who has been a big Obama campaign donor ahead of taxpayers in the bankruptcy proceedings.

Congressional investigators are seeking White House communications regarding the loan approval and the restructuring. Documents also revealed that the White House considered giving another hundred million to Solyndra.

So far taxpayers have only lost about $535 million for the 1,100 temporary “green” jobs.
