Newt supports ethanol. Ethanol subsidies cost taxpayers billions a year and do absolutely nothing for the environment. Even worse ethanol has driven up the cost of corn, beef, cereals and many food products.

This is one of the most egregious examples of vote buying in the old style of doling out taxpayer dollars to big corporations to buy votes. If we can’t get rid of this wasteful and exorbitant expense how can we ever hope to reduce spending? Even environmental groups have requested congress to stop ethanol subsidies because they actually do more harm to the environment than any benefit.

Newt would make a good adviser or cabinet head but don’t give him the reigns.

He is great at pointing out the radical left wing ideology of Obama and the Democrats but he is too much the opportunist. Don’t forget the ad with him sitting on the couch with Nancy Pelosi pushing the global warming hoax.

He establishes his ethanol bonafides in the first minutes of his speech. After all he is in Iowa.
