Blaming capitalism, the perpetual boogeyman of the left

December 24, 2010 06:50

Capitalism is an economic system. Greed exists in all economic systems because it is a human trait. The problem is people confuse greed with wealth. Greed is defined as the “excessive or rapacious desire, esp. for wealth or possessions.” Self interest is not greed. The normal desire to have food, shelter and protection is not an excessive desire. Capitalism rewards the productivity that results from self interest.

The left is actually more greedy because they give less of their own and want to take by force from the productivity of others to maintain power and control over people. They create a class warfare that says you have not because others have. It is not because of any failure of your own to be productive.

David Asman and Rick Santorum discuss the morality of capitalism is this short clip but they should have watched Milton Friedman on Donahue first. They are correct in noting that conservatives are more charitable than liberals/socialists. But despite the facts, Democrats are mostly socialists.
