‘We Need More Welfare and Fewer Jobs’ – Jerry Brown, typical leftist

October 15, 2010 06:44

We need more welfare and fewer jobs. Jobs for every American is doomed to failure because of modern automation and production. We ought to recognize it and create an income-maintenance system so every single American has the dignity and the wherewithal for shelter, basic food, and medical care.”~Jerry Brown

This kind of thinking is what has put California and America on the brink of bankruptcy. As Margaret Thatcher said, the goal of socialism is to make everyone equally poor.

Jerry Brown is also right in line with Obama in wanting an FDR works program to put more people on dependency of the federal government.:

“We had a president once, who put millions of people into the WPA, the Works Project Administration. They built sidewalks, they built buildings, and they had poets, muralists. This was a real, wide-ranging public works effort. You want to do something right? Provide a job of last resort. It was new in 1935. Retool it, redesign it for the computer age.”

Obama’s failed ‘stimulus’ plan and his new infrastructure building plan is no different than FDR’s WPA projects except that Obama and his fellow Democrats benefit form the confiscatory dues that will be taken from the union workers.

Yes they will be union. Obama has already made sure of that with his prior order that all government contracts be with companies that have ‘collective bargaining agreements‘. So we have a great scam going in California, many states and cities and all across America.

In the interest of creating jobs, which everyone wants, the government will borrow more money to hire union workers who can then be dunned for dues which can then go back to the politicians to keep them in power to print more money to ‘create’ more jobs. Its a workers’ paradise!

But then reality rears its ugly head. Government spending robs the private sector of capital needed to create real sustained economic growth which creates real permanent jobs not dependent on the government.

FDR’s massive spending prolonged the depression by at least ten years and there probably would never have been a recovery except for the intervention of the war and its required production.

Brown also is an advocate of completely destroying capitalism in America.:

Unless you totally yank up that system and create a better one, unless the spirit changes, unless the heart opens, unless we confront power with the truth of our own unarmed but absolute fearless truth, we’re not going to overcome it.” (emphasis added)

This is the same call Obama has made to ‘fundamentally transform’ America. Now we know what they mean.
